I thought of something that's been sitting with me for a while now.

We're not meant to suffer.
We're meant to feel.

Those aren't the same thing.

Sadness isn't suffering.
Fear isn't suffering.
Anger isn't suffering.

They're emotions. They're part of being human.

Suffering often begins when we decide those emotions shouldn't be here. When we judge them, fight them, numb them, or shame ourselves for having them.

We don't have to enjoy our emotions.

We don't have to get rid of them immediately.

We can notice them, make space for them, and let them move through us.

If you're carrying something heavy today, I hope you remember this:

You don't have to pretend you're okay to be okay eventually.

(Also... hey, y'all. It's been a while.)

This morning’s plans? Cancelled by an hour-long snotty tantrum, the demand for “daddy to do it”, and changing into my second shirt before 10AM. 🙃 Instead of fighting it, I decided to write this post—because sometimes the only thing we can do is breathe, hold space, and remind ourselves it’s not our job to fix it all.
